Dale and Janis married in 1963 and within months were on the mission field of Santander, Spain. Twelve years and four sons later, they transferred to Quito, Ecuador. Ecuador has been their main focus since then, although they have also ministered in various other fields, including, England, Bulgaria, and the USA. Now they live in the USA and minister in the prison to Hispanics and in various other venues. They desire to spend the rest of their lives sowing the seed of God’s Word anywhere and everywhere that He takes them. We’ll keep you updated on what He does as they go with Him to the needy souls of this world.

Hot in Texas
I haven’t a photo to show you of our area at the moment. We are so glad that fall will soon be here. We expect temperatures in the nineties by the end of the week.

Long hot summer
Record Event Statement: Records for Tyler Continued Tuesday. – Hot temperatures returned to the area on Tuesday, with Tyler continuing to re-write the record book. Tuesday’s high of 103 equaled the record high temperature for August 30, first set in 1954. Tuesday marked the fifty-third day this Summer when the temperature has reached or exceeded 100 degrees. This eclipses the record for that, replacing 1954 when there were fifty-one days at or above 100 deg.

Family at Thanksgiving

Starting 2011
Want to update you on our life a little. We are praying about the Lord’s plans for us for this year. We have invitations from various directions and want to be where the Lord has planned for us. Our latest pictures from Thanksgiving 2010 were taken at Mike and Kristi’s new home. The family photo was taken in a little 5 minute break from the rain and wind. It was really cold, but even so most of us were able to eke out a little smile. Only Dale seemed to take the whole thing seriously!

Fall activities
We’re back in the swing of the school year with the grandkids. The curriculum this year is so good that the kids look forward to school each day and hate for the week to end. Isn’t that great?
Toward the end of October we plan to go to Mexico again with the “For the Fame of His Name” ministry. Some of the same folks that went last year will be going and we really look forward to good fellowship with them and to interpreting for them. We also will do some classes. I’ll try to post some photos when we return. We’d appreciate your prayers for a fantastic conference for the pastors and their wives. We’ll need energy from the Lord, as the schedule will be full.

A Visit from PR
Our good friend Pam Russell visited us on Wednesday, as she passed through Texas on the way to a mission trip to Kentucky. She had us in stitches most of the time. What a clown! She seems to be doing well, 18 months after receiving a deadly cancer diagnosis. The really great thing is that she is full of the joy of the Lord. He has been changing her for 29 years and we’ve witnessed that progress. Now to see her rejoicing in her tribulation is enough to fill with joy those who love and admire her. Psalm 119:74 “They that fear thee will be glad when they see me; because I have hoped in thy word.” That verse describes our time with Pam. Pray for her as she works in the coming days to help the poor and testifies to what God had done in her before crowds and in private conversation.

Halé & Rachel
In spite of Halé having a bad cold and being sunburned after a tiring weekend trip we took the girls out and had a good time with them. Here’s a photo to prove it.
